“One world, one shopping paradise”?

A while ago there were some nasty word plays on the Beijing Olympics motto, “One World, One Dream”. Those puns were of a political nature, and for the safety of my blog, I’m not going to write them here. Just note that they referred to a particular separatist movement.

So of course that sort of word play should be forbidden – well, or at least protested against, since it is a free world and people can say what they want. But perhaps we should also look at ourselves and see if we are treating the Olympics with enough respect: as I walked past Silk Road Market today, I duly noticed the big slogan that was brandished on top of the front door – “One world, one shopping paradise”. It was in both English and Chinese, and by all means, it seemed to be a serious claim.

Hmm,  I wonder what other people would think of this. Perhaps this is the best example of Silk Road Market’s violation of IP? Except this time, it’s Chinese IP they’re violating, instead of foreign ones.
